What to expect

When working with Dr. Piper

Your first appointment, expect to spend 75 minutes with me. We will dive into your medical history, creating a timeline from birth until your arrival at my office. I want a full picture of who you are. To do that, I ask a lot of questions.

At this appointment, I create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. My approach is to stimulate your body’s physiology to do what it does best — heal.

Follow-ups from here forward will occur every 2-6 weeks and can range from 30-60 minutes in duration. When you first begin working with me, follow-ups take a little bit longer as we continue to tweak the plan that best suits you. After we’ve created a routine that feels comfortable for you, the follow-ups are quick check-ins with small adjustments as needed.

Chronic conditions take time to reverse. In my experience, chronic illness often has a significant trauma associated with its development. We get into that. I think counseling is so incredibly important. I’ve begun training in a technique called Holistic Counseling. I’m beginning to offer these visits to patients interested in digging deep to address the deeply held beliefs from our experiences surviving this existence.

I see myself as part of your team. And I often tell my patients, you’re the one captaining your ship, I’m here to help educate and provide options and opportunity - but at the end of the day it’s up to you to decide what feels best for you, in your body. I won’t promise to reverse every condition that enters my office, but I will work to help you improve your quality of life.
